This 1926 Tudor estate by George Earnest Robinson emulates the fine estates of Great Britain and features ashlar stone exterior walls interspersed with stucco and hand-hewn white oak timbers, rough slate roofing, copper downspouts and gutters, decorative clay chimney pots. >
Now under construction, this new custom barn will include garage storage on the lower level, as well as guest quarters, studio space and a home gym on the upper level, all overlooking the Great Marsh. >
This custom new build is situated to take advantage of a unique hillside site with significant granite ledge deposits. Substantial sitework was necessary to prepare for a foundation, as well as for a geothermal system. >

With their children launched, our Clients were relocating to Coastal Maine and wanted to simply their living arrangements. The resulting design was a clean lined and bright space with considerations for the coming years, including a master suite on the first floor, a woodworking workshop, and an income-generating rental unit. >
An overarching goal was to achieve the lowest possible energy usage day to day. These homes reached very near Passive House standards for air exchange and followed The Pretty Good House standards. >
