THREE SISTERS GARDEN PROJECT

CSA BARN

IPSWICH, MAssachusetts

Red Barn had the privilege of providing architectural services for the Three Sisters’ CSA barn. This barn represents a significant milestone as the farm’s first permanent structure. It serves as a dedicated workspace for farm staff, enhancing their efficiency and supporting a more user-friendly CSA experience for members.

Through the collaboration between Three Sisters Garden Project and Red Barn, the CSA barn stands as a symbol of progress and sustainability. It not only supports the farm’s operations but also symbolizes their dedication to providing accessible, locally sourced food and fostering community engagement.

Three Sisters Garden Project is a community farm dedicated to promoting food accessibility and practicing sustainable agriculture. With a deep commitment to stewarding the earth and fostering community connections, Three Sisters strives to make fresh, local food available to all.

The farm achieves its mission through various initiatives. One of their core offerings is the sliding-scale Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares, which allow individuals to receive regular deliveries of fresh produce. This innovative approach ensures that individuals from diverse backgrounds and economic circumstances can access healthy, locally grown food. Additionally, Three Sisters collaborates with a network of food access partners, spanning 17 cities and towns across the North Shore, to reach even more communities with their fresh produce.

Beyond providing nourishing food, Three Sisters actively engages with the community. They welcome volunteers who contribute to the farm’s operations and foster a sense of shared ownership and connection. Furthermore, the organization plays a vital role in educating and inspiring the next generation of farmers, land stewards, and advocates for a sustainable food system.
